Tableau data connector not saving parameters

I'm just getting started with Blockspring and Tableau and I'm liking it a lot. However I've hit a few stumbling blocks.

I can setup my web data connector to facebook insights and I can get data back from some reports. Some of them give errors though and I'd like to debug it.

1. 1.Are the block spring connectors open source? If so where can I get the source.
2. 2.For the analytics it requires a date range, i'd like it to be dynamic based on the current date. I assume I need to create a custom block to do this, can my custom block call an existing block?
3. 3.I've got a google analytics connector working too. I'd like to refresh my data from inside tableau, Refresh is greyed out but I can right click the data source and click edit. However the parameters I initially entered have been modified and when I rerun it I get an error unless I manually reenter everything from scratch.

If you have an answers/insights/examples/demos then I'd love to see them.
