Minimap plugin

I'm working on minimap demo, and I started to fix some pb. These are just new syntax pb.
Is there any repo for that as plugin?

Hello!

So currently the minimap isn't actually a plugin, it's just a demo. The demo lives in the core repository here. We would love to accept PRs for fixes to that demo. However, we also want to build out a real minimap plugin. And any changes to the demo will become obsolete when the plugin gets built out.

If you want to work on the new minimap plugin and not just the existing demo, just tell me and I can ping Abby about whether that's a possibillity (since it's kind of her project).

well, too bad for me, I'm in a hurry to enhance my software! :-D
It doesn't matter, it's interesting to work on it. But I don't have the level to make a clean plugin and I don't have such a fine knowledge of Blockly's code as you do, I'm just a little padawan.... At least if it's managed internally it will be much better integrated, great news!
As soon as it's working I'll do a PR for the demo.

Sweet! We always really appreciate PRs =) I'll be on the lookout for it!

Haha I think you have a better understanding of Blockly than most people. And I'm glad you find the demo interesting! It's definitely one of my favorites too, and I've wanted to see a debuggified version for a long time!

Hi Beka,

The minimap plugin would be a major feature for Blockly, I'd love to implement it in my project. I have tried to make use of the minimap demo, but stumbled upon issues, especially when zooming the workspace. Please could you give a rough indication of when the Blockly team might look to implement this as a plugin?

Hello!

Unfortunately, the minimap is on the back burner for the time being. The earliest we would probably get to making the minimap plugin would be January of 2022, however there is an open source project that has implemented a minimap if you want to take a look.

This is a message for the person who is working on a fix for the minimap demo: How are you getting on? I'd be really keen to see this working. Also if you'd be willing to share your code prior to a PR into the blockly-samples repo, I'd love to have access to it and provide feedback on it. As you can probably guess, I'm super keen to implement this in my own project.

at last I found some spare time to create a repo for test purpose: https://github.com/A-S-T-U-C-E/blockly-minimap

You just have to chang files inside blockly\demos\minimap\

It's not perfect, and need some modification I think before PR to official repo.

I found another repo with a minimap function (could be useful for a typescript version) : https://github.com/microsoft/jacdac-docs/blob/main/src/components/blockly/BlockMinimap.tsx
