Let's talk block design. How much do you think the specific shape and color of blocks influence a learner's understanding of programming concepts?
Do you stick to the default conventions, or have you developed your own "visual grammar"? Have you ever seen a color or shape choice completely confuse a student? Do you have other semantic mechanisms that communicate important information to students?

FWIW, I notice that our App Inventor users very commonly refer to various blocks by their color, rather than type name, in posts to our community site.
