Sara,

You can just go get a free blog with Google, Yahoo, or a few others main
line services.
You can go directly to Word Press and they have free blogs. Each of these
have numerous templets to use and they also have free instructions on
what to do.
my suggestion is to go to Go Daddy and get a one year web site for a
dolllar. you get a domain name and with that, you get to set up the Word
Press blog on your page. so you can do a little web page thing, Bio,
adds, poems, data or wahtever and then you have a blog at bottom.
If you go to my site, www.storynetadventures.com you'll see the Word
Press blog at bottom. this is where you can have people post things about
your site or about your product or about your blog.
But you must advertise, create a mail list for your blog. You can spend
money to others to send out press releases and advertise for free on
certain sites. Be prepared for some hard work to get it all together. But
do some research on how to build a blog first. there are books that will
walk you through. Go for it.

TickPub Thanks You,
All The Best And More,
Regards And Respect From Michael!

very good advice; using a free site is fine but do pay the annual fee for a domain name and forward or point the url to your free site. that way if the name ever becomes valuable you own it. I have several domains that aren't currently active. They are what is called parked. But i am protecting the name from someone else using it. best of luck, max

Hi Sara May,

I use WordPress.com. The basic package is free. There's an annual
fee for things like CSS customisation and domain name redirects.

A great service, imho. And WP are sincere about accessibility. But
the interface is clunky in places and you need to be familiar with
HTML or markdown to get the most from it. No problem for techies like
myself, but can be daunting for newbies.

On the other hand, all the other free blog providers (Blogger, Tumblr,
Medium, Wicks, etc) suffer from similar problems. It all depends on
what you want from your blog and which limitations and frustrations
with the interface you can live with.

HTH!

I’ve used Dreamwidth now for a couple years and love it. It was recommended to me on one of the Audiogames.net forums, when I posted that I needed an accessible blogging/journaling platform for the Mac. I had been using the SAMNet blogging platform, but since I’m no longer a Serotek customer at least for the time being I can’t use their service anymore. But I found it to be quite good. Anyone here ever used MarsEdit and if so, how was your experience with it? I read on AppleVis that it works very well with VoiceOver, and I read on Dreamwidth that the 2 are compatible. I’m definitely checking out this blogging community when I have more time.
