hi all, is there anyone out there could give me a step by step simple to follow guide on how to make my first blogg, i need to know things like how to upload my blogg and where i need to upload it to. do i need to subscribe to a web service or are there any free hoasts out there that are accessable etc etc. basically what i am asking is from a total novice point of view.
i can write simple web pages and have my own hoasting account if this would be a help but i am not sure about the blogging, is there anything special i need to know?
the other thing is how would i let the world and its wife know i have posted a blogg, would i have to pay for a service to advertise this?

You are over thinking it. You can use something like:
http://www.livejournal.com
http://www.blogger.com
or you could set up a website if you wanted but you don't have to. As
far as letting people know just post the link to your blog around the web.
