Hi All,  I  hope your all doing fine with the growing  season coming  to a close,  Next year I shall start the gardening  again,  as you  all know I reasonantly  moved and have been getting things sorted out.  But looking  forward to next season.  Did anyone  grow  any thing that they've   never  tried  before?  if so what  was it and how successful  was you with it?
I am really hoping  that  this group  is going to  get active  soon,  there isn't  much talk about what the different  ones of you are doing.  So come on please let us get using  the group.
Thank you Christine  for  looking after the group  whilst I was sorting  things out.
Christine  would you like to become  co owner  of the group?  I  would like it very much if you would except  this.     Take care all look forward to reading your messages.  Andy Shipp

Hi Andrew,
My garden has been a disaster. We have had so much rain that we have mold and fungas all over the place. The rain was so bad it has washed some of my plant out of the garden.
I did plant some Lizieanthems this year but with our climet they are classed as annuals.
I have a a tree hybiscus and the leaves are turning yellow any idea what I can do to stop this.
Love the group glad you are back.

Andy,

Do you think this could be a plant which will need an ericacious feed?  This can happen to plants when the soil is not acid enough.

Norman.

Now your back Andrew, I'm going to leave you to handle your own group as I don't like google at all.  Thanks for the offer to co-own a group with you, but I'm going to decline the offer and you know why...I shan't say anything, unless you want me to, but your welcome to join my yahoo group if you like, but I shan't be needing you as moderator.

Happy gardening everyone and let's hope next summer is kinder to our gardens than this one has been!

Best wishes to all, from Christine W.

Chdristine,
I and I know others would be interested to know what the problem is with Google.

Hi Roy  the problem with google,  is that it is a pain  to use,  like today I changed  a setting  and now I cannot change it back,   it is getting harder  to use   every  time  they  up date the website.  I am thinking of  moving this group  also over to Yahoogroups,  as it is a lot easier to use for us.  Andy S  group owner.

Hello Folks

What do members think of this?

I have a small 6 by 4 greenhouse on the allotment and am wondering whether  or not to leave the shade netting on to give extra protection to delicates plants I am going to over winter in the greenhouse?  I usually put up a lot of bubble wrap and fleece etc, but it is an unheated greenhouse and really used to over geraniums  etc.

What do others do?

I know the sunlight is important for plants.

Regards

Mark

Mark,

We leave the shading up all year round.  We put a small heater in our greenhouse which just about keeps the frost off.

Norman.

So Mark where does that leave you, I was taught at Bristol University that during light and warnth from the sun is all important and Norman has other ideas, so now you have the choice, good luck.

Hi Roy

I guess you could ask a dozen gardeners a question and get different answers as in my experience gardening is not an exact science!

Still one thing for definite is that  mucking and lining a trench with wet newspaper does help to produce a heavy yield of runner beans!

Mark, on BBC "Gardeners Qestion Time" a week ago it was. said that some newspaper print is poisonous to plants

Hello Roy

This is interesting, I guess it kind of depends on how much newspaper you put in the trench?
