I am trying to use a combination of Timecop and querying the arel where_sql to data, but I can't seem to get Timecop to actually freeze the time. I've tried Timecop.freeze and Timecop.freeze(Time.now), both of which are slightly off when using Time.now in my spec.
It seems like adding time.sleep(0.5) before elem prevents the script from freezing (either "get_records - Acquired pager" is printed, or the timeoutException is raised).Even though this is a turnaround for the issue, I would rather not put any forced wait.
I actually have the exactly same experience when the script works fine at first but hangs forever after some time. The '10 seconds' timeout is that webdriver/browser tries to open a page in 10 seconds. But the timeout that python script sends request to webdriver/browser is not defined. And it's none by default meaning request will wait infinitely.
you are actually sending a request to the 'control process' which is a http server and tell it to do something(find some elements in current page). The timeout '10' means that 'control process' tells browser to open a page in 10 seconds before it cancels and returns timeout status to the python script.
Python selenium package is using urllib3.request to send request and socket._GLOBAL_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT as timeout. It is none by default that makes a request wait infinitely. So you can set it by using driver.command_executor.set_timeout(10). Now if 'control process' brokes you will get a timeout exception and maybe recreate webdriver.

Recorded between 2019-2022, this lp is the culmination of many years of Morelli honing his craft, from digging and studying old records, to focusing and sharpening his production techniques, the L.I.E.S. boss has delivered an album that is a testament of his true love and obsession of the genre, with "Heart Stopper" being the record to cement the now iconic L.I.E.S. legacy even further.

What if a system of interacting, massless particles was conscious, and could make observations? The argument given in the preceding paragraph proves that this isn't possible, but let's be more explicit. There are two possibilities. The velocity V of the system's center of mass either moves at c, or it doesn't. If V=c, then all the particles are moving along parallel lines, and therefore they aren't interacting, can't perform computations, and can't be conscious. (This is also consistent with the fact that the proper time s of a particle moving at c is constant, ds=0.) If V is less than c, then the observer's frame of reference isn't moving at c. Either way, we don't get an observer moving at c.
The reason some people will say that time freezes at the speed of light is that it's possible to take two points on any path going through spacetime at less than the speed of light and calculate the amount of time that a particle would experience as it travels between those points along that path. The calculation is
where $\Delta\tau$ is the amount of time experienced by the traveling particle, and the other $\Delta$'s are the differences in space and time coordinates between the two points as measured by an external observer. If you take this same calculation and blindly apply it to a path which is at the speed of light, you get $\Delta\tau = 0$.
