Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji

Her Holiness Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji was born on January 1st 1931 in Kaimalpur (now in Pakistan) in the family of Shri Mana Singh Ji and Smt. Somawanti Ji. However, she was brought up in Quetta (now in Pakistan) as her father had his business there. As a small child she loved to visit Gurudwaara and listen to Gurubani. At the age of 8 years, she received God Knowledge from Baba Avtar Singh Ji.

In April 1947, she was married to Baba GuruBachan Singh Ji, son of Shehenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji. Ever since her marriage to Baba GuruBachan Singh Ji, she served Baba Avtar Singh Ji more as her spiritual master (Satguru), rather than as her father in law with full spirit of faith and devotion. She obeyed each and every word of Shehanshah Ji so much so that she became an example for other devotees.

In 1962, Shehanshan Baba Avtar Singh Ji passed on the spiritual mentorship of Sant Nirankari Mission to Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji. Since then, Raj Mataji started sharing the dais with Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji and participated in mission’s activities all the more whole heartedly. She shouldered her household responsibilities with him such that they never came in the way of her assisting Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji in promoting the spiritual message of the Mission. Here too she treated Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji first as her Satguru and then as her spouse.

In April 1980, Baba Gurubachan Singh Ji fell to the bullets of some anti-social orthodox elements and Baba Hardev Singh Ji took over the spiritual command of the Mission. Her Holiness bowed at His feet as a humble devotee although His mother in worldly relation. She showed the same faith and devotion towards Babaji till her last breath.

At home she was a loving, responsible and dutiful mother towards Her son Baba Hardev Singh Ji and daughters Niranjan Ji, Jagjit Ji, Mohini Ji and Bindiya Ji. She assimilated in them the values of truth, love tolerance, humility and contentment. She always encouraged them to trust God and have faith in Satguru. She inspired her children towards seeking company of saints (Satsang), God-remembrance (Simran) and selfless service (Seva).

She was always a guiding star for women seeking solutions for household problems. She counseled every women devotee with love and harmony. Raj Mata Ji travelled to far off places in India and abroad to salvage souls living in ignorance. She taught us to be humble and to respect and honor the saints. She gave lot of love and affection not only to her children but to all devotees of the Mission. She led a pious and pure life devoid of all prejudices which won the hearts of all the devotees and due to which the devotees called her Nirankari Raj Mata Ji.
