A one-year-old little girl lived in Germany because her father was in the Army. Her mom had a dream one night that she was in the kitchen cooking breakfast. She opened the window to let the sausage smell air-out, and went to call her husband to eat. Upon returning to the kitchen, the little girl was in the window sill. It scared her because there were no screens on the windows and she screamed. When she did, it scared the child and she fell out the window....they lived on the 4th floor. Instantly, the baby was killed. But this…was just the mom’s dream. The next morning, she was cooking breakfast, and opened the window. She called her husband, and then noticed the baby in the window sill. She knew from her dream not to scream and as her husband came in the kitchen, he came up behind the child and
grabbed her.
God’s works in amazing ways. He is always there for us and is constantly looking out for us. HE is always with us, but it is WE who are not with Him.
Did you know that Barack Obama was suffered a crushing defeat in a congressional primary just 8 years before being elected president? Or that Albert Einstein couldn’t find a teaching job? Or that Tina Turner thought she could never be successful without her abusive husband? Or the billionaire Ross Perot got his start by borrowing $1,000 from his wife? These are just a few examples of the many humble beginnings that eventually led to stunning success.
According to Rabindranath Tagore: When we watch a child trying to walk, we see its countless failures; its successes are few. If we had to limit our observation within a narrow space of time, the sight would be cruel. But we find that in spite of its repeated failures there is an impetus of joy in the child which sustains it in its seemingly impossible task. The child does not think of its falls so much as of its power to keep its balance even if it’s just for a moment.
Like these accidents in a child's attempt to walk, we meet with sufferings in various forms in our life every day, showing the imperfections in our knowledge and our available power, and in the application of our will. But if these revealed all our weakness to us, we would die of utter depression. When we select a limited area of
our activities for observation, our individual failures and miseries loom large in our minds; but our life leads us instinctively to take a wider view. It gives us an ideal of perfection which carries us beyond our present limitations. Within us we have a hope which always walks in front of our present narrow experience; it is the undying faith in the infinite in us; it will never accept our disabilities as a permanent fact; it sets no limit to its own scope; it dares to assert that man has oneness with God; and its wild dreams become true every day. The connection with the Almighty is an absolute MUST in our daily lives. Provide yourself with an environment in which the blissful facts of life come alive before you. The blessings you find entering your life, will be amazing. Just how parents are always looking out for the best interest of their children, The Almighty is constantly providing a much needed environment to enhance our existence:
just like the child in the window sill.
