I don't know if anyone is at all interested but I have created a revisualization tool in Blender that can give me an idea of what a rendering will look like on the dome before I take it into the dome.

This is useful for me in three ways:
1) I don't actually HAVE a full dome system yet although we'll start our renovation in less than two months.
2) I can show people who haven't been in a full dome theater what the images look like in a preview.
3) I can shoot bits from programs to make promos to play on the flat screen we have outside our dome.

You can use video or still frames as the image texture of the dome.

It's also done using the BI renderer because without a CUDA or decent OpenGL rendering on the system I'm using, it renders about twice as fast although it would no problem at all to render this using Cycles or the renderer of your choice.

Let me know if you find this useful or at least interesting. :)
