How to develop a simple software like BlenderFDS？

Hello，I need to develop a GUI for FDS like BlenderFDS.But I'm not a programmer.I want to kown how BlenderFDS developed and how should I make requests to my programmer teammates in the future?

Thanks for your reply.Our project planners want a more easy way to use the FDS(they think pyrosim is hard)and we have some our own formulations of fire engineering want to integrate the software.But as a  project planner, we don't know much about software engineering.So I want to get some experiences and suggests.

Hi Duke,

I am the main developer of BlenderFDS.

BF is the result of years of work. Are you sure you want to restart along the same path again?

Why don't you propose your manager to join the BF effort?

And a more fundamental suggestion: FDS is complex, CFD is hard. No UI can simplify that.

Actually, we don't have the time to develop such software from scratch. I will communicate with our team leader to explore the possibility of building our software based on the existing BF. Thank you very much for your great contribution in the field of fire simulation software!

I'm a Chinese graduate student majoring in building environment. Our research group had some research results in underground building fire safety, we want to apply the results in engineering  design.
