I am glad to inform you that the new BlenderFDS is released.

It is ready to use all the wonderful features of the Blender 2.9x series, and capable of importing and exporting almost all FDS 6 features, and even many of those in development for FDS 7.

BlenderFDS is the open source graphical interface and pre-processor for FDS. BlenderFDS lets the user keep the exported FDS input file under full control, while easing geometric data entry.

BlenderFDS is free and open-source software, released under the GNU GPL v3 license. It can be freely used for any purpose, including commercial use and distribution. It is available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows and has a committed world-wide community.

In addition to the new Blender 2.9x support, this release is packed with new features, in brief:
  • full support of the new GEOM namelist and of the bingeom binary format
  • new tools for making triangulated surfaces manifold
  • new tools for georeferencing objects on terrains, when dealing with wildfires, and fire smoke pollutants dispersion
  • a new verification suite, that imports and exports 99% of FDS V&V cases
Best regards,
Emanuele Gissi

Great work Emanuele!  Looks solid.  Not sure when, but I'm excited to try it out and will let you know how it goes when I do.  Thanks again.
