Yes yes, of course... When i said that even 2.49 doesn't work, that
should hint that the problem has nothing to do with the blender
settings. This used to work before (on 2.49), so i'm trying to get
some more info on the relation between blender and the OS to get to
the root of the problem. It is most likely a wrong setting somewhere
in XP, but i have tried all regional/language settings without any
result.
