Hi All,

During today's iRC meeting, Ton is hoping to make the release plan now for blender 2.60. So here will you please let me know weather your PO is ready for release or not.

Please consider the below rules for your translations:

1, Be sure you have made a 80%~100% rate completed.
2. Be sure you can compile it into mo and test it good in local.

Please send me your progress with language name by the end of tomorrow.

Thanks,

If you have access to the svn repo you should be able to translate and commit on top of what's already done :)

I have recently added some work to the german translation.
Last time i looked into it (about 14 days ago) we had 8%
and i just checked that nothing has been added since then.
So DE seems not ready.

However i am using

https://blender-translation.googlecode.com/svn/branches

Maybe that location is out of date ? If so, where would i have to send
more changes ?

Virgino, now is less , because I have aligned the po to last rev of Blender
just now:
Update to Blender rev. 2.59.4: 9233 string
32% translated, 5165 fuzzy, 1041 not translated
But a lot of fuzzy are correct.

es_UY: Spanish (Uruguay) will be READY, it's now at 93% and I hope I'll reach 100% and be able to do further testing during this week.

I offer to make this translation the generic Spanish translation for regions without a specific locale, since it really has 0% region-specific words at all. So it should do for anyone speaking Spanish in Latin America or Spain.

(- For those interested: I made this separate translation from scratch, just to be able to progress at a higher speed, but I've always kept an eye on making it as international as it could be done.
- Para aquellos interesados: Hice esta traducción separada desde cero, simplemente para poder progresar a una mayor velocidad, pero siempre he puesto atención en hacerla lo más neutral posible.)

cheers,
Gabriel

last time I checked es_ES was at 64% so it's a no go,

It's a shame we split so much during the first phases. I think that all efforts shoud've gone to es_ES, cos that's the root language, and then each country could make it's own variant, spending a lot less time translating a couple of lines and not the entire po file.

Merging es_UY as the default for es_ES would trash a lot of work of those of us who pushed es_ES to progress, so I'm not for merger, unless it's done carefully, but then again, division in this kind of project leads us to this kind of trouble.

A lot more conscensus would've been achieved if we worked in the branch and spoke our minds through this email list.

So, how should we go about this, spanish translators?

Hi Jonathan:

What I have proposed is NOT to merge "es_UY" with "es_ES", but to make what I have now in "es_UY" the generic Spanish translation for all non localized Spanishes (or "es" without any following country code). That is, the translation for people using Spanish with a locale not having a specific translation done yet (as is the case of Spain).

But, of course, once "es_ES" reaches 80% it could be added too as a country locale for Spain without loosing any of your work!
I hope I could explain myself better now.

Greetings,
Gabriel
