I have tried to use Blenderaid on my newly installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx
(10.04) but to no avail.
Somehow I am always getting a database error.
Removing the sql.bin file does not work.
Neither the python 3 nor the python 2.6 version work.

There is nothing on the console that tells my what exactly the error
is.
I am using the latest version of blenderaid (jan. 2010)

Any help how I can get some more info about this error is appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
Carsten Nikielk

Hi Carsten,

I am sorry to hear that. There is a version what has extended logging,
Could you please use this one and give me the output of the loggin so I can fix it.

There is a known issue with Blender2.5 (around Feb2010) this version created corrupted blend files. This has been fixed but not released yet.

PS. can you tell me where you are using blender-aid?

Best regards,
Jeroen Bakker

Hi Jeroen,

I am using the SVN Version of Blender 2.5.
So if there are corrupted blend files but the fix is not checked in yet, I am most probably affected :-(

Right now I am not at my home computer, so any tests will have to wait until I am at my beloved new Laptop.

Not sure what you want to know when you ask for "where" I use blender-aid.
Can you tell me what kind of information you might need?

Thanks for your time and effort.
Best regards,
CarsteN

Hi Carsten,

This is the same problem as reported by Durian and Tube. The problem is that Blender 2.5 trunk created 'corrupted' files for a certain time. This issue has been solved nowadays. It helps to open the file (/home/cnikiel/Projekte/Blender/Rebreather/Dolphin/trunk/DosierTest2.blend) with a current Blender trunk and write the file.

When using Blender-aid you will see that the file will be indexed correctly, but will halt on the next file what was written with the older Blender trunk version. Repeat this action will solve your issue for the mean time.

Best regards,
Jeroen Bakker

Blender-aid trunk has a fix for it, but still need some time to release this version

Hi Jeroen,

perfect, I fixed all files (about 20 of them) and then I could even use the normal 3.1 Python blender-aid.
And to my astonishment I found gazzilions of errors :-(

Hehe, now I need to go in and fix them
Thanks for this awesome tool, otherwise I would never have found them.

And many thanks for your time and effort in helping me figuring it out.

Best regards,

CarsteN
