Still trying to find out if we can float images so they don’t take up so much space. Feel free to edit!!

I reckon! And each of us can take care of our own pages for our own purposes, then blended learning can be the kind of central linking station to waht ever we find... jotspot had more in it such as file uploads and all that programming potential, but I just find wikispaces nice and easy. I don't think we should forget Jotspot, we should keep it going, it has heaps of potential, especially for me, when I'm more comfortable with all this...

Great Leigh! I've already gone in there and made an edit :-)

Wikispaces is great hey, so simple to use. Just set up a http://blendedlearning.wikispaces.org/ ... thought it would be worth trying out for our resource development.

Hello every one.

I've had another crack at the "Everything You Need to Teach and Learn
Online" series. This time I'm focusing on:

1. GoogleGroups
2. Blogger
3. Bloglines
4. PodCasting and PDF creation

5. Creative Commons
6. Wikispaces
7. OurMedia.org

8. Flickr

Maybe you'll get something from it, maybe you can suggest something...

If you're into collaboration on this, how about jumping in to the wiki
page and helping me edit it and put in the pictures and links

Hi Leigh,

I’ve added your pdf tutorial of blogger to the page:

http://blendedlearning.wikispaces.org/Creating+your+own+blog

I think it’ll be so handy for people to have the option of a paper-based walkthrough while creating their own blog! Unreal! (BTW: you’ll notice that I’ve linked to your blog post, rather than the pdf directly… not sure what you prefer)

Also I’ve updated

http://leighblackall.wikispaces.org/everything-you-need

with links back to blendedlearning (as you suggested) for more info for email groups, blogger and News Readers. Check out the News Reader one in particular… found a really good link to a step by step intro to bloglines!

Gotta stop this now… I woke up this morning when Fran bumped me thinking it was a page-edit… aaargh.

Michael.

Michael, this is looking fantastic! Such good work and very easy to follow... tomorrow, I'm going to create a screencast on bloglines, and I'll add a link in there. I'm stoked with this wiki development, you have really shaped it up nice. What do you mean by wikispaces is thinking to support it by the way... have you found a ay we can export this space as a stand alone website?

Thanks Leigh.

When I said that wikispaces are thinking of supporting floating images, it was in response to a post on the discussion section of the home page:
http://www.wikispaces.org/message/view/home/148

They've almost got it working... it's looking amazingly flexible and easy to use (just right-click an image in edit mode).

I haven't even looked at exporting the space as a stand-alone website, but it should be possible as I read somewhere that they support all the API's to access the information without a browser etc (ie. they believe in freedom of info, irrespective of whether it's hosted by them or no).

But the more I've been toying with it, the more i'm thinking of using it as-is... it should surprise people at the end to say, you've been using a wiki all along! have a go at editing this... and for them to see how easy it is (without even having to log-in!) What are your thoughts on the matter?

-Michael.

I'm in complete agreement with you. My only (quickly fading) concern is that people who have not seen a wiki before, usually react to the site as ugly and too plane... but like all good things in life, they're beauty is far deeper than skin deep. I'm hooked on wikis mike, thanks to you.
