WhatsApp uses a customized version of the open standard Extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP).[212] Upon installation, it creates a user account using the user's phone number as the username (Jabber ID: [phone number]@s.whatsapp.net).
WhatsApp is free to download messenger app for smartphones. WhatsApp uses the internet to send messages, images, audio or video. The service is very similar to text messaging services, however, because WhatsApp uses the internet to send messages, the cost of using WhatsApp is significantly less than texting. You can also use Whatsapp on your desktop, simply go to the Whatsapp website and download it to Mac or Windows. It is popular with teenagers because of features like group chatting, voice messages and location sharing.
To use WhatsApp you need a compatible smartphone or tablet with a sim card, an internet connection, and a phone number. The app uses your phone number as its username, and your account is locked to the phone, although you can transfer your contacts over to new devices. Whatsapp is free to use in Ireland. However, if abroad, the Whatsapp website states:
Whatsapp now lets its users share their location in real time. This feature allows you to share your exact location with a friend or loved one. This may be useful when you are meeting friends in a crowded area, or you want to let someone know you have arrived at your destination safely.
Parents need to know that WhatsApp Messenger lets users start video calls and send text messages, videos, photos, and audio messages to one or many people with no message limits or fees. Messages can only be sent to other smartphone users who also have WhatsApp, which is available on different devices. The app checks your phone's address book for WhatsApp users and connects you automatically. It also encourages you to urge friends not using the app to sign up. Privacy and security can be customized in settings, including a two-step verification feature uses a PIN for added account security and the ability to turn off location sharing. Users also have the ability to send disappearing photos, videos, and GIFs through the Status feature, which is similar to features on Instagram and Snapchat. Read the developer's privacy policy for details on how your (or your kids') information is collected, used, and shared and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change. Under the CCPA law you have the right to protect your personal information. Make a Do Not Sell request to Whatsapp.
Families with some members living or traveling internationally will find this tool valuable. The voice-messaging feature's impressively clear audio is a plus, as are group texting and check marks that confirm messages have been sent and read. As the app adds fun and cosmetic features, it stays competitive with some of the other top apps for teens, and its no-fee system makes it appealing, especially for those with family and friends in other countries. It presents the same hazards as other social media apps but is message-focused and has more family-friendly reputation. The biggest pitfalls are probably huge group messages and disappearing messages, so parents should talk to teens about the potential hazards -- and their limits around -- these features.
The malicious code, developed by the secretive Israeli company NSO Group, could be transmitted even if users did not answer their phones, and the calls often disappeared from call logs, said the spyware dealer, who was recently briefed on the WhatsApp hack.
Yes. TimelinesAI supports Whatsapp MultiDevice connection. It means you or your managers can connect WA to Pipedrive and still use your favorite Whatsapp tool. Messages sync automatically in real-time.
Hi!
I'm getting an error when trying to connect our Meta Business Page Number to Hubspot Inbox.
The Meta Page is fully verified and confirmed by Meta Support as verified.
When connecting WhatsApp from the Meta Page the connection is confirmed as active and working, but Hubspot doesn't see this WhatsApp account.
Every time following the steps for connecting to Hubspot Inbox the integration can see the Business Page, but only offers to create a new Whatsapp account for the page. And gives the same error after that (screenshot).
Both Hubspot and Meta Support have confirmed multiple times that there are no issues from their sides.
Any chance someone here had the same error and have figured out how to fix it? Thanks!
Hi @MiaSrebrnjak
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I specifically tried deleting the whole Whatsapp account from Meta page and from the phone app and creating it directly from Hubspot.
Yet Hubspot hits error when creating a new account (original screenshot).
And everytime I connect the whatsapp account through the Meta page or the phone app - Hubspot integration just can't see it for some reason and only offers to create a new one (scrennshot from the Hubspot recommendations and my actual settings on the right = no options to use my existing Meta connected verified whatsapp acount):
Hi @AHussain1 ,
In my case I was speaking with Whatsapp support and they were recommending to Register as a Facebook Developer, create a Meta App and set an API, here is the link with the steps: -api/get-started
At the end I didn't need to do that but after going through the steps I got access to my Whatsapp account status and could see that the account was disbled because of the website address that was listed on file. So I just had to verify the website address and after I got the confirmation that Whatsapp account is verified everything was working as it should from Hubspot side.
So make sure that not only your Meta Business account is verified but that Whatsapp account is verified and confirmed as well (in my case Meta Business was good, Whatsapp was connected and I didn't know that Whatsapp account is not verified)
Hope it helps!
In addition to standard one-on-one and group chats, you can also do voice or video calls free of charge, even internationally. Remember that this will eat up your data when not connected to Wi-Fi. One small downside is you typically need a SIM card to use Whatsapp, though thankfully, there are workarounds.
Once a new display name has been approved by WhatsApp, you have 14 days to reconnect the number under the new display name. If this process is not completed within this time frame, you will need to submit the display name for re-approval as it will have disappeared from the Facebook Business Manager.
