Highlighting random text on its own

I'm using a Google Chromebook.  While scrolling through, moving my cursor around and generally just reading through scripture, the app is randomly highlighting text on its own without my input, thus giving me the option to COPY-PAST-SELECT ALL.   I've noticed that the highlighted selections seem to be where my cursor is or has recently been located on the page.  I thought maybe the touch pad had 'tap-to-click or tap dragging enabled but it is disabled.

I figured out how this random highlight section keeps happening but I still have no clue why it is happening.  It is very frustrating to have to stop every few seconds to unselect some random word.  I've noticed that when I use two fingers to scroll through the page, then lift my fingers off of the scroll pad and place one finger back on the scroll pad to move the cursor, it will highlight/select whatever word the cursor was touching at that point.  It only happens with this scenario of two fingers to scroll, remove both fingers and replace with one finger to move cursor.  It only happens in the BLB app.   Hoping this is fixed soon.  Will be praying for a fix.
