Android to Ipad Backup

I have learned how to create a backup from my android which has been my primary BLB source. I have a lot of notes and highlights that I wanted to backup and transfer to my iPad BLB app. When I did the back up highlights and notes did not transfer. I don't see in the android app the option to include notes and highlights in the backup. Does anyone know how to include notes and highlights in a backup so I can restore them to the iPad or even to my own android in the future if for some reason I needed to upgrade phones or something. 

I am thinking that I need to stop using this convenient note feature and save my notes somewhere else every day. Thank you all!
