Yesterday I was doing a comparison of prophecies in Joel and Revelation. There was sure a lot of flipping back and forth between the two books. I thought how handy it would be if we could select books side by side the way we show different Bible versions, both on the same screen.

I second this suggestion. This used to be done on a Bible app for Palm Pilots back 15 years ago (Olive Tree?).
I'm sure this would require a lot of time and effort to get the verse features to work for both.
