BACKUP ISSUES WITH THE ANDROID VERSION OF BLUE LETTER BIBLE

03-29-2025 — Just wanted the developers to know that seven years of Notes, Notebooks, Highlights, and Favorites were lost today. 

Hundreds of sermon and bible study and devotion notes. 

Why? When transferring my phone to a new carrier, the number had to be ported to the new carrier and the phone had to be unlocked. 

To unlock the phone, the old carrier required the phone to be reset to the factory default settings. 

Before doing that, Samsung Smart Switch app was used to back up the phone. 

All apps were restored successfully and even one app, Safe Notes had hundreds of notes, all stored somehow in the app and all the notes, including Highlights were restored. 

Blue Letter Bible backs up all notebooks,  notes, Highlights and favorites. The location of the backup is a mystery; the backup files did NOT transfer with thr backup of the phone using Samsung Smartswitch. 

This is all going to be posted to the BLB group on Google. 

BLB has been unresponsive to this issue, although it was emailed to BLB. 

Unless you don't care or will keep your Android phone forever, use Notebooks, Notes, Highlights and favorites at risk of losing them because the backup doesn't stay with the app if you have to switch to a new carrier and have to back up your phone and do a factory reset. 

Unfortunately BLB has only tutorials for iPhone that look like this whole sad story would be avoidedhp provided one has an iPhone. 

Also, fortunately,  the Holy Spirit had gifted me with grace and peace. I am content with the outcome and the Holy Spirit had given me wisdom, that being BLB is a fantastic resource for studying the bible except for note-taking.
