Restoring sight was the subject of an opinion piece in today's NYTimes "Seeing Really Is Believing: How cataract surgery changed my life." by Jennifer Finney Boylan."For those who get the surgery, the restoration of sight is miracle enough. But just as important, if not more, is restoring a sense of well-being. Studies show a strong correlation between cataracts and depression, especially in older adults. And so it was not just my vision that my childhood friend brought back to me. It was a sense of brightness and hope."

I have, for the twelfth year, accepted the challenge of participating inVisionWalk, a big step in boosting research for retinal degenerative diseases, hosted by the Foundation Fighting Blindness!

I am asking for your help and support in my fund-raising efforts with a donation. Your 100% tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many! It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make your secure donation online by visiting either my personal or team page using the links below. Or, if you would prefer, you can also send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below.

Please help bring that "sense of brightness and hope" to me to all our borthers and sisters who suffer from retinal degeneration.
