How to tackle conversations around the Electoral College this week
Being a helpful advocate for National Popular Vote this week
We know that whatever happens over the next few days is bound to cause a lot of people to talk about the Electoral College and our current system of electing the President. This email is intended to be a quick reference guide for helping you navigate conversations with family, friends, and co-workers about the way we can elect the President by 2024.
As supporters of the National Popular Vote plan, we need all ofyou to help spread the word that: 1. Yes, we can have a national popular vote for President by 2024 and make 1 person, 1 vote a reality in Presidential elections. 2. No, abolishing the Electoral College isn't the only way to change the system. 3. Everyone's voice is needed in order to make National Popular Vote a reality by 2024, write your legislators in support of this bill at www.NationalPopularVote.com/Write
Remember - these top 3 arguments for a National Popular Vote: 1. Whoever gets the most votes should win. 2. Every vote should be equal. 3. Candidates should have to campaign in all 50 states.
Action: When talking to people about this issue always ask them to take action by writing their state legislators: www.NationalPopularVote.com/write
How to get involved: www.NationalPopularVote.com/Volunteer Direct people here to get plugged in with the effort in their state to change the way we elect the U.S. President, or help our effort nationwide!
