2020 Spring VisionWalks will now be celebrated together at our
National Virtual VisionWalk Day
Saturday, June 6, 2020
Although we will not have a physical walk this year, we are not stopping our mission! We are introducing a virtual VisionWalk which will allow us to continue to fight towards our mission. Our virtual walk
has been created for many reasons including:
- Ensuring the health and safety of our Foundation families and the community at large through these uncertain times
- Continuing to raise awareness and funds for sight-saving research
- Standing strong together as a community to make a difference
How is the Virtual VisionWalk going to work?
I encourage you to continue to register and fundraise as usual:
- Register yourself and your team for the Triangle VisionWalk
- Share the link to your fundraising page with your family, friends, co-workers & neighbors
- Post the link on your social media to ask for support
- Challenge 20 people to raise $20 for 2020
- Online fundraising opportunities
- Raise $100 or more to receive a VisionWalk t-shirt mailed out prior to 6/6
We will be promoting the Virtual VisionWalk in many ways including social media themed weeks (more to come on this later in the week). Sponsorship benefits will be modified now.
National Virtual VisionWalk Day June 6th:
Activities in accordance with current health and safety requirements will be promoted
- Social distance walks around the neighborhood
- A 5K on your treadmill
- Dance Party
- Virtual hangout with your team
- Team spirit costumes and cheers
National and regional awards will be offered. We encourage walkers to showcase how they are celebrating and participating virtually:
- Post a picture or video on social media wearing a favorite VisionWalk t-shirt, 2020 VisionWalk t-shirt or their team shirt and doing an
activity of their choice using hashtags.
Our VisionWalk day may look different this year, but our mission to fund sight-saving research remains the same. I will be sharing more later this week. Please reach out with any questions! Thank you for
everything you do for our cause.
