Mom is moving to NC!

Today I learned about the Southern custom of ‘pounding’ a new pastor or neighbor. “A pounding is an old fashioned tradition celebrated in many churches were a new pastor is welcomed to the church with gifts of food. Traditionally, a pounding would provide a pastor and his family with a pound of staples, such as a pound of flour, a pound of sugar, a pound of butter and a pound of other basic items.” My mom is moving to North Carolina after living for seventy-five years in her home state of Massachusetts. I want her to feel welcome in her new home and hope you can help with a modern pounding, a ‘postal pounding.
