Role : Release Engineer

Job Location : Framingham, MA

The Release Engineer will contribute to the successful development and timely deployment of packaged and developed application solutions, by providing technical knowledge of build processes and procedures that package together all elements of the products. You will be involved in everything from configuration to deployment and monitoring of the process. The released product will be packaged in such a way as to ensure consistent and reliable installation and upgrade, and to provide reliable and predictable mechanisms for moving system elements between systems.

 

Roles and responsibilities

•             Design and develop code that glues together various applications in our build pipeline

•             Engineer and release new solutions

•             Coordinate delivery of, maintain and monitor deployments to multiple environments

•             Build out automation of release deployments

•             Assist production support teams during deployment process

 

Core Skills and qualifications

•             Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience

•             5+ years of experience as a Release Engineer

•             Experience with Industry standard install products - InstallShield, Wise and others

•             Experience with Windows installer technologies - msi, msix, merge module (msm)

•             Experience with source control systems – TFS and build/release methodology expected

•             Extensive scripting experience with PowerShell and VBScript

•             Experience with integrating scripts and database services

•             Excellent written and communication skills

•             Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously and contend with competing priorities.

 

Plus:

•             MS SQL programming.

•             Experience with deployment - BigFix and SCCM.

•             Experience using Jira in an Agile environment.
