Some time before Kris and Susie entered the Cyber World, Spamton existed as an unsuccessful spam email Addison, overlooked by Lightners and never able to catch a break.[2] Despite his lack of success, he always proclaimed to his fellow Addisons that he would be a "big shot" one day.[3]
Spamton NEO introduces the yellow SOUL mechanic. Similar to the yellow SOUL Mode in Undertale, this allows the SOUL to shoot bullets at certain obstacles. The SOUL can also charge the bullets for a "big shot."
Both Susie and Ralsei gain a unique ACT in this fight: Susie's Supercharge decreases the time it takes to charge a big shot (and increases the shot's speed), and Ralsei's FluffyGuard summons two fluff ball shields that orbit the SOUL. Pressing "[CANCEL]" stops the fluff balls from orbiting.
If played using a keyboard, since both "[CONFIRM]" and "[Enter]" can be used for firing shots, holding one key while pressing and releasing the other key allows continuous firing of Big Shots without discharging once charged, which would significantly reduce the difficulty of the fight.
However, starting in v1.06, using this exploit more than 5 times in a battle causes Spamton NEO to become "angry," his face fuming and turning red. While angry, damage done by Spamton NEO's attacks is greatly increased. Each cheated shot increases Spamton's AT by 0.5, capping at 26. The damage increase from this is lowered each time the player gets a Game Over. In v1.05, in preparation for this feature, the game started tracking how many times the exploit was used using a variable named "funnycheat."[15] If this exploit is used during the introduction of the yellow SOUL, the rage mechanic is reset when the actual battle begins. As of v1.07, alongside increasing damage, the properties of certain attacks are altered when Spamton NEO is enraged, attacks are brought out earlier in the fight, and any health-based attacks (such as Chained Heart) have higher health than usual, which is called "hellmode" in code.[15]
B... This is a mental struggle. I understand that sounds a little suspicious to hear from a newbie, especially after I read what the villain of this battle goes through, but I'm serious. The repeated lyrics, "You're a big shot," "Now you're a big shot," "Be a big shot," makes it sound like someone trying to convince themselves they're okay. That they're trying to give themselves a pep talk. A little like the raving of a lunatic saying, "I'm not crazy... They're crazy! Yes, THEY'RE CRAZY!!" At first I thought this was one character taunting the other. Y'know, a little bit of, "C'mon, I thought you were a MAN!" But the way the lines are delivered aren't confident or boisterous, they sound fragile and worried. This character is scared, and because of it, the music reflects their feelings.
So, to those of you who don't know, if you hold down enter and then spam X while fighting Spamton, you can spam the Big shots, which can be advantageous for numerous reasons. However, the downside to that is it's more difficult to use the arrow keys since you're already using your hand to hold down enter. A little trick I figured out is to use a small weighted object (i used a metal 20-sided die) to hold down the enter key, so you can use both hands freely whilst being able to spam the big shots. I don't really have a lot more to add, I just figured I'd put it out there.
This is exactly what Spamton does in the snowgrave route. As a result of your immoral choices regarding the way you treated the world and characters of the game, you are given an more difficult boss fight where Spamton almost becomes the hero. Thematically this is perfect, since this is the same chapter where some sort of genocide route equivalent is established. What seems like a somewhat superficial reuse of some of Undertale's music is also a deliberate choice by Toby to call back to the genocide route in Undertale for the Snowgrave route in deltarune.
So I've become obsessed with the song BIG SHOT and one of my favorite parts is (what I assume is an orchestra hit) in the beginning and throughout the song, but I've searched through all the usual undertale and deltarune soundfonts in fl studio and can't seem to find it, anyone got any idea what it is?
During Spamton NEO's attacks, your heart will turn yellow and you'll be able to shoot bullets from it. Holding down the Z button will also allow you to charge bigger, more powerful, bullets - a big shot one could say.
In the beginning of the song, Spamton addresses the listener, encouraging them to participate in his business and promising a chance to become a "big shot." He urges them to click on a link and give him their money, suggesting that he has a deal waiting for them.
A dumping ground for Spamton one-shots. Some of these are ideas which otherwise didn't make it into my main fic, or just random scenarios I wanted to write, lol. Most of these will (probably) be pornographic, but there may be fluff/angst here and there too.
