Does anyone know how to load Adobe Fonts to a SS site? I've been trying to research it and it looks like the only was is with CSS. Does anyone have the code for this or is there another way to do this?

Thank you for these links. I do need to use a specific Adobe font however, because we do want some of the headings to exactly match the branding we've created for this client. I've actually checked out this post from Kate Scott and if you see under her Adobe Typekit instructions, she says to copy and paste the Adobe project ID to the External API Keys labeled "Adobe" under advanced settings in SS. This API Key doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I just wanted to follow up on this thread in case anyone was looking to figure out how to use Adobe Typekit fonts in SS 7.1. I found a tutorial that worked for me! -to-add-custom-fonts-to-squarespace-71-including-adobe-typekit-fonts

With Adobe CC I've gained access to Typekit. I've started playing around with it and noticed they put a cap on page views per month on loading the fonts. (Currently I'm capped at 500,000 but would need 5,000,000+).I assume this is due to bandwidth use, or perhaps it's due to foundry licensing. I understand I could upgrade my plan to increase the number of page views, but I'm wondering if I could host the font myself.

Would I be allowed to download a Typekit font (such as the one I have on my desktop) and upload that font to my web server and then embed it myself, rather than going through the Typekit service? Or is this breaching any agreement?

The page view cap is there to gain further money for Adobe if you need more page views. It has absolutely nothing to do with bandwidth or foundry licensing. Adobe has plenty of servers and bandwidth to serve everything and they are the foundry.

This is one reason I refuse to use Typekit and actually purchase my fonts with the licenses I need. That, and the fact that if the subscription were to lapse, all the web sites you build with Typekit fonts will stop using those fonts.

No. Our web font license requires that the fonts be added to a website with the Typekit embed code. If the website or web app is viewed in the browser (either on the desktop or on a mobile device), it's covered by the web fonts license.

We're sorry to hear about your experience. We have created this help article ( -guide.html/fonts/kb/troubleshoot-font-activation.ug.html) that should help you resolve most of the font activation issues.

In case you weren't aware, the Creative Cloud application needs to be running on your computer in order for the fonts to be synced. If you don't have that installed, you can download it for free from

- If you haven't done so already, would you please try turning off font sync in the Creative Cloud application, wait a moment, and then turn it back on? The option to do this is under the gear icon in Preferences > Fonts ("sync on/off"). Sometimes the app just needs a fresh session for the fonts to appear again.

I had this problem also just today. After reading Liz's note above about Cloud running for sync, I opened my Cloud app, and nothing was there. I quit it, and started it again from the Start menu, and it said "Unable to connect to Adobe." Then it refreshed with a message about an update, so I clicked to install that, which took a few minutes. I discovered my shortcut no longer worked, so I got rid of it and launched from Start, which worked great, and my fonts had returned to normal in my Ai file. I then recreated my taskbar shortcut.

I have this issue today and realize when I go to "Manage my account" from Illustrator, it takes me to my personal CC account login (which I am not allowed to change on the login page). When I go to the CC app I am logged in under my work account. This is confusing since I am logged in under my personal account in the browser in order to access my Adobe Forum user account. This CC world is not fun sometimes.

I've had this happen to me on a few occasions, and each time the solution was updating the creative cloud app to the newest version. After updating, all of the synced fonts reappeared in the font selection menu.

I have the opposite situation. Whenever I update, something breaks. But you can't do anything without updating, meaning you have to click "Update". Rebooting doesn't help. I suspect it's a bug in this update, and I will have to update again in a few days. It's annoying to reboot repeatedly, to no benefit. I'm sure everyone else is like me, and has about 10 apps open to get work done, so rebooting is a real hassle.

I am having this problem also. The font appears in InDesign but not in Illustrator. And there is no line about synching fonts in the preferences area in the Cloud app. How can I get the font to Illustrator? When I click on the Add Fonts From Typekit button in the character palette in Illustrator, it just takes me to the fontkit website, where it says the font has been synched. There are no updates for the software. I need this font to recreate a logo asap. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello. I have tried every single option on here and I can still not use my fonts. This is absolutely ridiculous that this has been an issue for over 3 years with an Adobe Product. Font's say they are installed. When I go into Illustrator it say's they can't be found on my PC. I have sync'd, resync'd, closed all the processes, logged out and everything else that has been suggested here and the font's still will not show up in my program. Please can someone help me fix this.

Adobe, offer the "cut the cable", very basic versions of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign etc, and a good set of traditional, and display fonts all on a thumb drive. Very basic could also include Apple jumping in the barrel with an OS with the same idea. No animated, glossy folders, bells, whistles (OS 7.6)...the power and speed of today with the straight-forward simplicity of the early to-mid 1990's.

Hi I have this issue with my typekit. I have fonts installed on my work computer and when working on my macbook at home it tells me fonts are synced but when opening Indesign the fonts are missing. I have done all suggested troubleshooting, in creative cloud, turning on and off synced fonts etc. This is a recurrant issue can someone help once and for all as to why this happens please? And what i can do. It is a big timewaster...

Thanks @PeteSharp
so I guess this where the font ID goes, where do I get the font ID from and does this add the font straight way or do you need to do anything else? Would this add all weights and can you add multiple Adobe fonts?

Got your point. The browser default font selection is the fallback. That being said you, you can set your desired base font by styling the body in the designer, not a new class on the body element. I normally set my body font, then headings. Then I tune for different classes or elements. Want more that one font on the body? You could do this as custom code using a new CSS rule for body in the for example.

I think there are a lot of small things webflow does not expose, to protect users, I mean designers, from doing things that hurt the user experience. I would imagine that people would load up ten fonts and then complain about performance for example. I have no idea but after reading lots of forum posts I could see the point of restrictions.

Setting BODY font does not work on rollback fonts unfortunately after Jan 18. All my projects went from Sans / Sans-Serif rollback to Serif Times new roman after saving projects after January 18 as rollback even though my global body tag is defined as a sans or sans-serif font.

I have several fonts in the Adobe Typekit that I'm using for an important project, I could use them in ArcMap but ArcGIS Pro can't see any of them. Which is making it fairly impossible to continue to use Pro. Is anyone familiar with this issue?

So Adobe Typekit doesn't actually store the fonts in the usual places as I understand it, but serves them up to all the applications (I don't know exactly how this works). So the fonts I have synced via Typekit are not in Windows/Fonts but I can see and use them in other applications like Office or Photoshop.

I can access these fonts in ArcMap which is why puzzles me. Also with the recent Adobe ArcGis unification I figured this would be more integrated... but I guess not.

So thanks to Twitter I bumped into a Product Engineer with ESRI who had Adobe CC. He assumed it would work but he discovered that ArcGIS Pro officially can't read Adobe Typekit synced fonts. So he has registered the issue for the development team to examine.

So yay I found a bug.

Not so yay I can't use this new project I just created for a client in Pro so back to ArcMap.

FYI, this new project is wild. I'm recreating a 1933 Shell Road Map of Massachusetts modified to fit into the HP Lovecraft world for a essay collection on his stories and their connections to geography. It's been a really interesting process of research.

Thank you for this information. I had two fonts that our organization uses that I was able to access in ArcMap but not Pro. The fonts were in the Windows/Fonts folder already so I added them to the Pro/Resources folder and now I can use them in Pro too. Very helpful!
