Subject: Battlemoor camping
So, I have submitted our camping footprint for Battlemoor, but there is one question that I have not yet answered:
“Would you be willing to host one or two individual campers who are new to the SCA or to Battlemoor?”
Would we?
Are we willing to throw the dice on whoever the land dudes want to throw in with us?
My thoughts:
· We already have a few outsiders with us. They are mostly known quantities and shouldn’t be too disruptive, but adding more might become an issue
o We will very likely have Nancy, Her +1, and Fox. (Anyone remember the name of the +1?)
· There is really no plus side for us in this, other than we might meet some awesome people.
· This would be a nice thing to do for both the Barony and for the newcomers
o The newcomers would be pretty insulated from the Dillholes
· The newcomers may in fact be old-hat SCA Dillholes, which would lead to conflict
o We ain’t wilting flowers though, so if they wanted to be difficult, it could be pretty amusing
· But this is Battlemoor, which we may not want to screw with

Nancy's+1 is Lilliana.
On the note of newcomers, I personally don't have a problem with it. If they are on our meal plan that is an easy thing to take care of. However, if this event also gets rained out, we were pretty tight for space in the beer hall at Inlandish and this could be 3-4 more bodies to keep dry. Barring that, I have no objection of rolling the dice, we're pretty good at making assholes feel unwanted and unwelcome in our camp, if it comes to that.
Yeah. That seems about right to me.

FYI, the landocrat is on top of it.
This was the response I got from A&S about brewing:
“Hi Bjorn,
I found the info on Facebook -just search Battlemoor VI and the Brewing competition info is just a short scroll down. Bethany Stephens (not sure of SCA name.) is coordinating. Hope this gives you what you need.
Lydia”
So, at the very least, both emails were responded to within a couple hours.
Which is hella nice.

I have you down as a group. Showing up for the cleanup days will help a lot since you can walk around with me and show me what you need.

We will once again be attending Battlemoor this year, with what looks like 9 participants.
Our tents:
1 large Kitchen Pavillion 10’x20’
1 sunshade 8’x15’
2 large period pavilions 15’ round
2 large mundane tents 10’x14’
2 medium mundane tents 10’x9’
1 small mundane tent 6’x8’
Last year our campsite was down to 3 people, due to conflicts, but the ground we camped at Battlemoor 4 (and 3) would work.
Also, I’m not sure how you’re allocating land, but we had planned to come for the cleanup days this year (regardless).
If that gives some consideration for what land is “up for grabs” then I’d like to know what options are available.
