Blanco Taxidermy owner Jerry Ayer has been hard at work creating something new. A production company creating a documentary on giant squid contacted Ayer with a strange request: they needed a squid tentacle for a reenactment. “Normally I have an animal to work with,” Ayer said, “but this I had to create it out of thin air.” Ayer sculpted a tentacle out of clay (which many in town may have seen in the back of his truck), created a silicone mold, and cast the tentacle out of a different ...

Stocks rose as talks regarding the “fiscal cliff” progressed this past week and economic data came in better than expected. Well, we say we want to live according to God’s Word, and Christ’s teachings, but do we really do it? Jesus said we would be hated by the world for simply believing in Him. That’s one reason we may not feel loved or accepted by the world, but what about our friends? How many times have we ‘judged’ a person simply because of what someone said about them?
