In this study, the Raster Design toolset boosted productivity by up to 48%.* Learn how Raster Design can help you save time when working on an AutoCAD drawing that requires a raster image to convey design intent.
Snag is when I install AutoCAD Raster Design 2010 it says it cannot find AutoCAD won't install. I tried messing with the setup.ini but it will not install. I suspect it is a problem with the fact that AutoCAD is installed as a true 64-bit and raster design only has a 32 bit install.
No I have the installs from disk that I nomally use for 32-bit installs. When I went to the Autodesk portal there was only 32-bit install available. AutoCAD 2010 I did find the 64-bit install and that is what is loaded.
Are you creating a deployment or doing a direct install? I mainly work with deployments but this should be relevant either way. It will appear on one of the first few install screens at the bottom there is 2 check boxes. This is a 32-bit and 64-bit install this is where you will be selecting the type.
This useful autocad video focuses on how to apply AutoCAD raster design software to cleanse and transform scanned image plan into AutoCAD drawings file. This software is very useful to obtain the DWG files out of scanned images with the use of powerful raster editing and raster-to-vector conversion tools. The users can edit scanned drawings in a common AutoCAD environment.
Apply customary AutoCAD commands on raster regions and primitives. Ability to remove raster images, lines, arcs, and circles efficiently.
Vectorization tools
Generate lines and polylines out of raster images, and transform raster files into vector drawings.
Image transformation functionality
Demonstrate and evaluate geo images in AutoCAD Civil 3D civil engineering software and AutoCAD Map 3D mapping software.
The most updated version is AutoCAD Raster Design 2018 that contains some exciting features like improved scanned drawings with raster-to-vector conversion as well as support for windows 32-bit and 64-bit.
Free Download Autodesk AutoCAD Raster Design for Windows PC. It delivers the power of raster image manipulation inside selected AutoCAD software for customers who need to work with legacy scanned paper drawings, maps, or other digital imagery inside a CAD environment.
Many engineering, manufacturing, and construction companies still have a substantial legacy of paper or scanned documentation for existing products, machinery, and layout drawings that are still "live." However, as and when "as built" design changes are required or building layouts change frequently, the cost overhead of re-drawing is high and unnecessary.
Equally, GIS and infrastructure professionals must often edit existing map data, building elevations, or geospatial and digital satellite imagery to maintain and update existing records with new developments or proposed plans.
Manipulating the raster images in order to make 3D designs is not an easy task. To accomplish such a complex task there is much software available in the market but to simplify the task of creating 3D designs involving raster images there is very little software available and at the top of this category is AutoCAD Raster Design. The conversion of raster to vectors has been made easy by the powerful AutoCAD commands. This complex operation can be accomplished with very easy and simple AutoCAD commands. Now that will surely impress some designers. Like all other Autodesk products, AutoCAD Raster Design also comes with a new version every year. The version under review here is AutoCAD Raster Design 2015. This version has come up with lots of stunning features that allow the designers to design the raster images in vectors. With image display features you can easily export/import the images. By doing so you can save lots of your precious time. The editing and cleanup tools can be used to enhance the quality of the images. Vectorization tool is added in this version with which you can add lines and polylines into the raster graphic. You can also love to download AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 x64.
You can also click on the below button to start AutoCAD Raster Design 2015 Free Download. Also, this is the complete offline installer and standalone setup for AutoCAD Raster Design 2015. This would be compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit windows.
Ideal for older versions of AutoCAD programs without built-in PDF support (pre-AutoCAD 2017). PDFin is ideal for converting CAD drawings, floor plans, network diagrams, and organization charts. It extracts editable CAD entities, layers, objects, and text from any computer-generated PDF file, while images from scanned PDF files are placed on a non-editable tracing layer. PDFin is not designed to vectorize scanned drawings.
The PDFin plug-in is designed specifically for AutoCAD 2012 and higher and other compatible Autodesk programs supporting the extension API. An alternative plugin version for users of AutoCAD 2011 and earlier may be found at -integrity.com
It doesn't join the lines or recognised bsic dashed lines. Solid hatches consist of thousands of triangles and no basic text recognition for vectorised text.Basically it spits out a poorer version of what Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW creates when exporting PDF's to DWG.Might suit people using simple PDF's but no good for complex PDF's.
Comment from the publisher: We try to be clear that PDFin is not designed to convert scanned drawings. PDFin extracts editable drawings from data-rich vector PDF files - basically any file created on a computer (save, print-to-file, export, etc). Scanned drawings are raster PDF files with no data to extract. For scanned drawings, PDFin produces an AutoCAD IMAGE object with a reference to the scanned TIFF or JPEG image. This IMAGE object can't be edited in AutoCAD but can be useful as a tracing layer or underlay. It's easy to tell the difference between raster and vector PDF files. Just open the PDF file in Acrobat Reader and magnify to >800%. If the drawing looks crisp and clear, it's a vector PDF file and PDFin will do a great job for you. If it looks grainy, jagged, dirty or noisy, it's a raster PDF and must be redrawn or traced. If you are not sure, send us a test file. Hope this helps!
