Hi Everyone,

I'm curious whether there's any way to 'share' Catalog definitions.

Specifically I have a work computer and a personal computer and I have a list of Web Searches that I'd like to share between them. Is there any way to do this? It looks like the `Catalog.plist` file in Application Support just contains _all_ of my Custom Catalog Entries and has things like IDs and such that don't look like they'd be ideal to copy but maybe I'm wrong about that.

Furthermore it seems like this would be something that could be useful to the community in the same way that, say, Text Expander public snippet groups are in that software. Even being able to export a Catalog Entry definition like Keyboard Maestro allows.

Thoughts? Is this already possible?

Thanks in advance!

There isn’t really a good way to do this. You can copy sections of the property list back and forth between Xcode and a text editor, but that’s not ideal.

A more granular way to store catalog entries would be a nice idea, as well as import/export options.

Turns out most of the code to make this possible was already implemented in Quicksilver, just there was never an easy way to do it.

I’ve added a method for saving Catalog Entries via the Catalog Preferences, which should be available in the next version of Quicksilver:
