Assign abbreviation broken

Trying to assign abbreviation (mnemonic) but although it looks like it takes, it does not.

I find the website with a part of its’ full URL.

Tab to 2nd line.  Type “A”

Assign comes up.

Tab to 3rd line.

Type the mnemonic I want to use.

Looks fine.

Close QS.

Launch QS and type the mnemonic.

The site turns up at the neat bottom of the list.

Is assign broken or am I forgetting a step?
