I've just finished restructuring my catalog and preferences and hot keys just so; Finally think I am getting the hang of QS.  Yeah!
Low and behold, now the reveal action no longer works.

Any ideas?

I did add path finder plugin - I know, I know, I was just curious - and thought maybe that was the cultprit and uninstalled it.

Still no go.  Not a big deal; I can use open.  Just saying.

Is it me or is the Finder not and application?  Spent 10 minutes searching for finder.app to no avail.  Surprised I never noticed, if so.
Otherwise it is no where to be found except my Dock! :-(

I think this is an issue with the OS, and not with Quicksilver. Just to confirm this:

* open up Console.app
* find a crash long on the right hand side
* Right click and select 'Reveal in Finder'

Is the file revealed in Finder?
If not, try a restart

FYI, Finder.app is in /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app
(You could have used Quicksilver to find it ;-) )

Yep.  Reveal is not working there either.  Figure it out once it bothers me, for now I'm good.

Thanks

BTW:  Finder has disappeared in QS.  Take a look at my 'Finder" QS search results in the pdf?

It's something I tinkered with in my catalog.  I figure it out.  But I'm not going to kill my preferences after
I finally got it the way i want it.  I can find other ways to open Finder....CANT KEEP ME DOWN!!!!

Thanks for the help.

Like Patrick said, Finder is in /System/Library/CoreServices. The default “Applications” catalog entry only looks in /Applications (I think) so it won’t include things like Finder.app and Dock.app.

If you want them, you could add a custom catalog entry for that directory and limit it to applications, or switch to the “Find All Applications” preset instead (but that gets way too much in my opinion).

Personally, I install the Spotlight plug-in and add a Spotlight entry to the catalog that searches for

kMDItemKind == 'Application'

That gets about 442 results instead of the 156 I get from the default.

Not certainly knowing which appropriate signal to send in cli for appleeventsd, I just launch Activity Monitor.app and force quit it.
The hang occurs in my system mostly after relaunching Finder.

Thanks for the links. I’ve seen the problem with ZIP archives too and didn’t realize it was the same bug.
