I've tried to find a solution for this in a few sources but I can't
devote much more time to the issue — I love QuickSilver. As an
interactive designer, I'm constantly running, closing, toggling
between tons of applications, contacts, emails, and so on.

Lately, QuickSilver has been crashing (not responding) on a regular
basis. I checked activity monitor, and it appears to be idling
anywhere from 10-80 CPU, but it's usually rather high, and this is
when QS isn't even envoked.

I took a sample log if this will help anyone. I don't run many
plugins.

Using latest version of QS and Leopard OS, I run the following
PlugIns:

Apple Address Book Module
Apple Mail Module
Bezel Interface
Firefox Module
Hotkey Triggers
Itunes Module
Primer Interface

Anyone have any ideas?

Haven't tried reinstalling the app yet — may just do that in a bit for
kicks.

Thanks,

Have you customized your catalogue? One possible cause of this sort
of thing is to add an entire drive, for example, to the catalogue with
an infinite depth setting.

@Sesqui

That was the problem — thanks!

It runs at nearly 0% while idle and only 5% or so active.

It is generally wisest to only add the folders that you use on a
regular basis, and to avoid the infinite depth setting on a folder
unless you are sure that the folder contains no aliases to other
folders. For example, I have an alias to my home folder on my
desktop, and if I set QS to infinite depth on my desktop catalogue
entry, it would create an infinite loop as it kept finding my home
folder inside my desktop folder inside my home folder, which would
cause QS to keep indexing forever.

Brilliant! I've had the same problem the past week and you advice did
the trick. I only wish the answer was easier to find. Thanks for the
help, I felt cut off without Quicksilver running.
