I'm running 1.1.2 (4006) and just upgraded to Mavericks. When I run Quicksilver it makes my processor churn at 100% continuously and the app is almost unresponsive and super sluggish. Had zero issues before upgrading to Mavericks but now is almost unusable. The little spinning working symbol is on which makes me think there is something going on with the catalog scan getting into some kind of infinite loop. However, I've changed essentially nothing on my hard drive since upgrading to Mavericks so don't understand what could be causing this that wasn't before.

Not sure, but the Contacts plug-in is prone to that sort of thing. Maybe try disabling it temporarily to see if it goes away.

You could also try clearing caches (see the wiki) and relaunching Quicksilver. Can’t hurt.

How soon after upgrading are you running into this issue?  When upgrading to Mavericks, part of the upgrade is Spotlight reindexing your hard drive(s).  So it may be because of that.

Disabling the Contacts plug-in worked for me to solve the problem when it started after upgrading to Mavericks.  Here's how to disable: I'm no expert but I would suggest removing the Contacts plugin from ~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/PlugIns. Actually I believe it's the one named com.blacktree.Quicksilver.QSAddressBookPlugIn.179.qsplugin.

It would be sufficient to simply uncheck the check box next to it in the Plugins tab of Quicksilver's preferences window. No need to go digging around and deleting things manually. :)

And by keeping it installed, you’ll be notified if it ever gets updated.

Thanks guys! I disabled the contacts plugin (by unchecking) and have been letting QS run for a couple days that that seems to have solved the problem.

At least one user was able to get things working with Contacts, though it sounds like a pretty extreme fix. See #1157.
