Hi

I'd be grateful for any help with what I'm sure is a basic question.

I use Quicksilver to launch applications and to find people in my OS X Contacts. Recently, on one of my two machines, it's stopped finding people in my OS X Contacts. I've tried fiddling around with catalogue without success. Is there some easy setting that will make it go back to how it worked before?

I suppose the alternative is to delete and reinstall it?

Many thanks for any advice you can give...

Adam

Is the catalog - plugins - contacts ticked? Does it show the count of contacts.

Thanks for the response, Haider.

Catalog / Plugins / Contacts plugin was and is ticked. I can't see it showing a count of contacts. I might not be looking in the right place.

Above 'Contacts plugin' is 'Contacts support', which was not ticked. I've ticked it, but that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

Any further pointers very gratefully received...

Thanks again

Adam

There should be a number just to the left of the checkbox.

ticked it, but that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

That’s unrelated and I’m not sure it ever worked. You can delete it.

Wait, what version of Quicksilver are you on? I don’t think Contacts Support was ever rebuilt as 64-bit. (I didn’t know it was even released publicly.) It shouldn’t even load unless you’re on a really old version of QS.

The latest release of Quicksilver is 1.1.3 and the latest Contacts plug-in is 2.2.0.

Thanks so much for replying, Rob.

Wait, what version of Quicksilver are you on?

Ha! Good spot. A beta version - 63 or 65 I think. (Deleted it before I made a note.) Installed v 1.1.3 and, reassuringly, the first thing it asked me was for permission to access my contacts. And yes, I can get my contacts again.

I'm not quite sure how it happened that I had a beta version installed and had never updated. Thanks for the simple solution!

All the best

The older versions are still looking to the update system on
blacktree.com, which won’t catch the current version. It happens to a
lot of people.
