Hey, Just copied quicksilver.app to my applications folder (never
installed before) on SL10.6.1 and it won't launch - just keeps
crashing. I've tried everything I can, but it just wont run! Any
help appreciated.
Thanks,
G

Here's the console: it seems to reference an "Unknown class
QSUndraggableWebView"?

Where did you download from, and what version (β54, β56a7)?

It may be that you got a corrupt download—that has been known to
happen sometimes when downloading from blacktree.com

Hey, Thanks for following up on this, I tried downloading from blacktree and from code.google.com.  The version is β56a7, but I have since tried other versions without much success. I think it is because the software was never installed prior to SL upgrade, it seems to fail on its initial setup screens (where as others have upgraded to SL after install and have relatively few issues...) ....

I managed to get someway into a setup screen for an older version but it still crashed and would never work.

I've tried removing the various directorys that get created on first use and even removing the plugins folder within the app contents, but to no avail...

Any ideas?

G

This may not be relevant to the issue you are experiencing since it is
not Snow Leopard related, but a couple months back, I tried to install
B56a7 on my old Powerbook after having scrubbed the hard drive clean
of the previous Quicksilver installation. B56a7 crashed immediately
upon starting (as you described) as did B56a6 and B56a5. I had To go
back to either B56a4 or B56a3 to get a version that actually started.
I left it at that--- not wanting to fight anymore. However, about two
weeks later, I noticed Quicksilver had updated itself to B56a7. It has
worked fine ever since.
