Hi guys,

Alpha3 is up on code.google.com:

http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-alchemy/downloads/list

However, for me even after removing my App support / prefs / cache, I
cannot get QS to show its window; pressing the hotkey causes an alert
sound, but no window shows, and no error appears in the console. I'll
try to increase the debug level and report my findings (anyone
remember how to do that for QS?)

OK, tried pressing Option (⌥) on start and also using the following
bash script:

# !/bin/sh
QSAPPLICATION=/Applications/Quicksilver.app/Contents/MacOS/Quicksilver
verbose=1 NSDebugEnabled=1 QSDebugRanking=1 QSDebugMnemonics=1
QSDebugPlugIns=1 QSDebugMemory=1 QSDebugStartup=1 QSDebugCatalog=1
$QSAPPLICATION

I don't get anything in console or the terminal window. I configured
QS with no plugins to try but it also fails.

I think it is because quicksilver, for some reason, no longer ship
with a front. When I installed Alpha3 I had to go to preferences and
install Bezel in the plugin menu - and I had to do the same for
'quicksilver core'

I am having the same problem with this build.

Yeah I have the same problem. Not working at all. I also get the OSX
"dong" when I try to launch it.

Works fine for me. Strange.

Actually I take that back. Installing this version wiped my entire
catalog and I can't add anything to it.

WTF happened here?

Also, switching to an earlier version doesn't change the behavior. I
can't add anything to the catalog and my plugins don't appear in QS's
preferences, though the plugins are in the QS folder in application
support.

Hm, I can't get the preferences to even show. I'll try messing with
the prefs manually see what I can come up with...

My fault (thanks laage for pointing it out) !
I inadvertently broke Xcode mechanism of copying built plugins to the
Plugins directory. I'm rechecking that a4 does seem to work correctly,
then I'll upload this one. In the meantime, you'll need to copy
plugins from the a2 version, or build them from source.

I can't get any sort of catalog back, no matter what I do. Deleted and
reinstalled fresh, rebooted = no catalog and no ability to add
anything to it. My interface choice is empty (no interface) and
manually adding back a plugin crashes QS. When it restarts I have an
interface but still no catalog.

anyone else?

Any idea how to correct this? Very strange. I'm seeing this on a MBPro
and a MacPro, both running the same version of Leo (10.5.4) The
previous version was fine but even reinstalling it produces the same
result, once I've installed a3.

Help!

Have you tried deleting you preferences in ~/Library/Preferences/
com.blacktree.Quicksilver.plist
or your cache in ~/Library/Caches/Quicksilver

Thanks, I'll wait until the new fixed version is released.

Is there a change list available showing what's changed or been fixed
since the June build?

I'm running a Macbook Pro with 10.5.4 and had the same problem. I
first installed the Bezel interface, and then the QS Core Support.
Once I did that I was able to access the catalog.

So far so good.

Hmmm, well I thought everything was working. But I'm unable to launch
applications.

I did. I trashed everything and started over: no change.

I eventually booted from another drive, ran DU and DW on the drive
(there were some errors, not sure how or if it was related) , booted
back, installed and uninstalled (using the QS uninstaller), rebooted
and then reinstalled, which worked. I'm running a2 for now.

Thanks

Just use the changes list (not a real changelog, but good enough):

http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-alchemy/source/list

This comes a bit late but maybe it still helps someone. The a3 lacks
the Plugin folder. Basically what you need to do is click show package
contents on a2 copy the plugins folder and paste it into the newer
one.
Hope that helps.

Just to confirm, I was having the same issues (not catalog, no fixes)
and now after copying the plugins folder over from a2, it seems to be
working perfectly.

Just wanted to add that most of the plugins in the Plugin folder can
be founder using preferences and th search field:

Bezel Interface
Finder Module
Hotkey Trigger
... are all there

Only one missing was
Primer Interface, which I had to copy from the alpha2 release.
