This is also a super valuable feature for me.If there was someone who’d be motivated to implement this with some compensation, I’d totally chip in $100 (or even more). 😀»Lucas

What is the prognosis for QS working with it in the future?
I don’t know how to answer that. I have ideas about what I’m going to do, but anyone could theoretically be working on this.
Do you think the code-signing issue will be resolvable?
I would assume so.
Since you are our main guru and yet this eludes you, do we need a funding round to find someone who may be able to throw some light on the matter?
Feel free. Note that since we have a paid developer account for signing, I think we get a free support call with Apple every year. I just have to figure out how to use it and find time to do so.

I have a very naive question on the issue of a QS plugin to control the
macOS Music app; is it possible to write a plug-in in Swift that uses the
MusicKit API to replicate the iTunes plug-in functionality (really two
questions there)?
It looks like you might be able to use MusicKit to get the list of available tracks, etc., but for playback, you would only use MusicKit if you wanted to turn QS itself into a media player. I don’t think we want that.
iTunesLibrary can also get the track info, replacing what we currently do with the XML. We could continue to use iTunes/Music.app’s scripting interface to play things.
