Screen Capture Problems

This may have been covered before - if so, sorry! I did a search but
couldn't find the same problem I'm experiencing.

I'm having difficulty with the default Mac OSX (Leopard) screen
capture commands. Cmd+Shift+3 and Cmd+Shift+4 work fine, but (Cmd+Shift
+4)+Space doesn't behave properly - instead of allowing me to select
specific windows to capture, it just selects the whole screen, and
proceeds to make a totally blank png.

This problem only occurs whilst Quicksiler is open - close it and it
goes away (re-open it and it returns). I have the Quicksilver screen
capture module installed but deactivated. I've never used it.

I'm running the β54 (3815) version of Quicksilver, so it's seems I'm
all up to date. I only noticed this problem today, and I last recall
using the command normally about a month ago.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
