I looked through the guide and it told me to search "***" in the
website search form.
and put qss- in the beginning of the URL.
I pasted it in the 1st pane when creating a trigger but the pane box
didn't show up as "Search for.."
Which means it only opened the URL but I didn't get to type in my
search entry.

I'm trying to make QS search the web through, let's say.. Google. but
the 2nd pane won't show up as "search for". That's pretty much my
problem. Help?

You need to install the Web Search Module, then this should work.

The guide is the right place to look, it should say it there somewhere!

I was having the same problem, and it was because the url I put in my
catalog wasn't formatted correctly. Here is how it looked when I
copied it from Firefox:
http://translate.google.com/translate_t?text=***&langpair=zh-CH|zh-TW#

See the | character toward the end? That's what caused the problem.
After changing that character to the equivalent "%7C", it worked and
my second panel in QS became "Search For..." instead of "Open URL".
Sorry I don't really have the right vocabulary to explain what I
changed, but see if your URLs contain any offending characters. I
would also recommend finding the searches you want to use on this
list:
http://docs.blacktree.com/quicksilver/web_search_list

and copying them from there to QS. It seems pretty comprehensive.
