Hi folks,
I have installed quicksilver and working normally. As I
want to increase its usability, I have tried to install some more
recommended plugins. But as ticked any plugin, after some time I'm
getting error message as "Timeout". I dont understand what's wrong
with this. I have searched in google by stating the problem but I
haven't succeeded. If anyone of you have any suggestion, plz try to
share!!!!

It helps when reporting problem to include information like what
version of Quicksilver and OS X you're using. In this case make sure
you're using QS version 3815 as the URL of the plugins changed.

I'm having the same problem. My version of QS is 3815 (just re-
downloaded it yesterday because my old version was having the same
prob). I'm running OSX 10.5.1 on an Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro 2.16
GHz. It left it chugging away all night trying to download 5 plugins,
and it made zero progress beyond about 20 percent - still making zero
progress.

Thanks - Mike

Same problem here. I have 3815, running OSX 10.4.11, MacBook Pro 2.33
Core Duo. Can't get even one plugin to download, any help?

Thanks.

This is from the FAQ in the user guide
http://mysite.verizon.net/hmelman/Quicksilver.pdf

Quicksilver won’t install any plugins and hangs when trying
This is usually a permissions problem and kGTD has been known to
cause problems. Check that your user account (and not root) owns ~/
Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/ and the PlugIns folder
beneath it. You can check and change this if needed by doing Get Info
in the Finder and looking in the Ownership & Permission section.
After making sure the folder exists and you own it and have
permissions to write to it, restart Quicksilver.

The other cause is if you’re running Little Snitch which is a reverse
firewall and prevents Quicksilver from contacting the server where
the plug-ins are. TODO: I’m not sure if Little Snitch can be
configured to to allow Quicksilver to work or if you have to disable it.

This worked for me, thanks.

No "Plugins" folder existed for me in the Quicksilver folder inside
App Support; to create one, I had to give myself read&write
permissions for that QS folder. Then I made a new empty folder
outside of the QS folder, renamed it "Plugins", and dragged it into
the QS folder, which required authentication with my admin password.
Seems unnecessarily convoluted (I'm the only user on this machine) but
it seems to have worked following a relaunch of QS itself.

Thanks again - Mike

Now the problem has solved!!! Just I have uninstalled my old QS and
reinstalled QS beta version 3815. And I apologize for not giving my
version details and OS. I use it on Mac OS 10.4!!!

@ Howard,
Thanks for your support!!!!

Thank you--- Vishnu.
