Can't mnemonic deeper into folders

I Trigger a mnemonic for a folder.
“Z”
Z folder shows and it’s contents are listed as normal, if I right cursor.
But if I hit another letter for a doc that I know is in that folder, after I right cursor, it goes back to the top, so to speak, and begins a new search.
This has always worked previously.
I think it changed after updating to 1.6.
But I installed 1.59 and it’s still an issue.

Still on Sierra and nothing else I can think of has changed…...

Have I set something wrong accidentally ?

I cleared the caches at 
~/Library/Caches/com.blacktree.Quicksilver
~/Library/Caches/Quicksilver

No change
