I wonder if you were on an older version of Quicksilver before. As of
version 1.1.0, it will only load plug-ins built with 64-bit support.
Given the release date of the last Social Bookmarks plug-in, it was
probably 32-bit only.

If it still actually works with the service, we could recompile it with
64-bit support, but I can’t even locate the source any more.

As a possible work-around, keep in mind that Quicksilver can add URLs in
a number of ways, including just a file with a list of URLs in it. If
there’s some script out there that can dump your bookmarks to a file
periodically, you could tell Quicksilver to index it.

For instance: https://github.com/mgan59/python-pinboard

The repository is called del.icio.us, but I think the plugin name is Social
Bookmarks, so it should work.

Ah, I was looking for it under the new name. I’ve since renamed the repository to match.

Do you have the software to recompile it to 64-bit? It would be awesome if
we could get it to work again.

It’s free for everyone, but yes. :-)

I’ve built a 64-bit version without changing anything.

If it works, let me know and I’ll put it in the update system. (I don’t have an account to test with.) If it doesn’t work, eh… I can recommend some good Cocoa books.

Thanks! I’ve uploaded it to the update system. (It’s identical to what you have, so you don’t need to do anything.)

You might want to rename the repository to social bookmarks, as it not only includes del.icio.us, but also supportsma.gnolia and pinboard.in
(
I haven't tested it with ma.gnolia and pinboard.in).

I did.

Has anyone been able to use this plugin with pinboard? I tried getting it work with no luck. I have checked my pwd although I have a feeling that the pinboard api has evolved since this plugin was written?

Something I forgot to mention, which might be of benefit to other people trying to use the Social Bookmarks plugin.

When I installed the new version (2.1.0), it wouldn't recognize my credentials in the plugin authentication pane. But the credentials worked fine when I logged in directly to del.icio.us.
My password had 30+ characters including symbols such as: #,*,&
I had a hunch that that the length or the symbols might be there reason it didn't authenticate, so I changed the password to around 15 characters and removed all symbols. After that the Social Bookmarks plugin authenticated properly.

Not sure if this is related to quicksilver itself or the plugin, but  if you are having trouble authenticating try using a shorter password and remove any symbols.

Interesting. This inspired me to get that working, because I'd love to
have my pinboard bookmarks in QS, and after installing Social Bookmarks
(v. 2.1.0), I don't see it listed anywhere under any category in the
Catalog pane.

Any ideas on why this might be the case? I'm running 1.2.0 (4009).

Thanks.

There aren’t any presets. It uses custom entries only, which don’t
exist until you add them. Click the + button at the bottom of the
Catalog prefs.

I had tried that too and did not find anything related to the plugin in
the menu that came up after clicking the + button. Social Bookmarks
_did_ show up after restarting QS, though, and I've got it working now.
IT seems it requires the restart.

Thanks.
