EVERYTHING EVERYTHING (
www.myspace.com/everythingeverythinguk) are
from Newcastle and Kent, and are now based in Manchester. We’re very
excited to have them play for us, mainly because they sound like
hundreds of great pop tunes bumping into each other, and they are
totally ace. Recently featured in Observer Music Monthly’s Top 20 New
Bands of 2009, and citing ‘foot and mouth disease’ as an influence on
their myspace page, Everything Everything deserve your attention.
Support comes from the excellent COME ON GANG (
www.myspace.com/
comeongangmusic), who’ll play one of their last shows in the capital
before jetting off to SXSW to show the music world what they can do.
As usual, we’ll have guest DJs playing the finest pop tunes, free
sweets and cheap drinks. Eeeexcellent.

2. Black Tape with Jesus H/ Foxx Single Launch - Fri 3rd April
Bands: 8-11, £4, Club: 11-3, FREE
Tickets available from Ripping and

Black Tape is very proud to host the launch of Jesus H. Foxx’s new
single, and bring you live sets from three great Scottish acts:
Gig-goers in Edinburgh and Glasgow will be more than familiar with
JESUS H. FOXX’s (
www.myspace.com/jesushfoxx) fine brand of inventive
post-punk, which prompted the esteemed online indie mag Drowned In
Sound to describe them as a cross between ‘The Modern Lovers’
apathetic composure’ and ‘the rhythmic deviancy of Pavement.’ Praise
indeed
Y’ALL IS FANTASY ISLAND (
www.myspace.com/yifimusic) released their
third (third!) album last year to great critical acclaim from sections
of both the local and national music press. Taking elements from a
whole host of disparate influences, they fashion a sound that is part
grungy-rock, part folk-tinged Scottish indie pop and part, well,
everything in between.
Support comes from Glasgow’s Hindle Wakes (
www.myspace.com/
hindlewakesband)
Black Tape DJs and Guests will follow with the very best pop tunes,
along with free cakes and sweets and cheap drinks.

3. Gig - The Week That Was
We're putting on a gig on Saturday 18th April at Sneaky Pete's
featuring The Week That Was, Mitchell Museum and one more unconfirmed
band. The Week That Was features one half of the Brewis brothers from
Field Music, and their album last year made a lot of critics go all
weak at the knees, so this one will be pretty special. More info on
this one coming soon.

4. Invite folk
Know some friends who like this kind of nonsense? Why not invite them
to the Facebook group or events so they too can receive these overly
long hyperbolic ramblings. Yeah.
If you've read this far, thanks.
