Blacklight 9.0.0 released

We are pleased to announce the release of Blacklight 9.0.0, just in time for the upcoming 2025 Blacklight Summit!

Blacklight 9 is the first major release of the software in nearly three years. It is the result of many community discussions, collaborations, and contributions. It includes code changes from nearly 300 pull requests from 20 contributors made over 14 months.

We have also prepared an upgrade guide for institutions to follow:

This guide will continue to evolve as more implementers go through the process of upgrading. Please refine it as you wish, and as always, reach out on Slack or the blacklight-development listserv for assistance, or file GitHub issues at https://github.com/projectblacklight/blacklight/issues for anything that isn't working how it should.
