Blacklighteers,

Once again the Code4Lib conference organizers are looking for sponsorships to help keep the cost of attendance low. A number of the “regulars” have already pledged a combined $7500 for the 2022 conference, and we’re just $500 shy of Platinum for this year.

If you’re able to help add to the pile and support one of the best conferences in our space, please see the logistics below or contact Kathy Azevedo directly.

Hello Blacklight Community!

We are looking forward to the Code4Lib 2022 Conference, to be held in Buffalo, New York, May 23-26, 2022. I am reaching out today as a representative from the Code4Lib 2022 Sponsorship Committee. We are excited to announce that we already have our first Blacklight Contribution from Princeton University Library! We’re looking forward to seeing how high we can get this year.

As you are likely familiar, every year, members of the Blacklight Community come together to help sponsor the annual Code4Lib Conference. Every sponsorship dollar helps reduce the price for hundreds of individual attendees, making Code4Lib one of the best possible investments in the library community. In previous years, the Blacklight Community has contributed $8,000 - $10,000 from up to 10 different institutions, making Blacklight one of the largest sponsors of the event each year. Can you, will you help support the next event?

I’ve included the Sponsorship Committee’s formal ask letter below for your reference. It include the link to the Registration Form (also linked HERE). If you are able to contribute this year, simply complete the contact information at the top of form, then scroll down to the Blacklight Contributor Sponsorship, and enter the amount you are able to contribute this year. No need to include logos at this time, just scroll down and submit. We’ll get an invoice created and sent out via email.

Thanks so much for considering, and for helping support a community that has in turn helped make Blacklight the successful project it is today. If you are aware of other Blacklight organizations not included in this email, please forward on. And don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

Dear Blacklight Community,

The 17th Code4Lib conference will be held May 23-26, 2022 in Buffalo NY! One of our main goals in preparing for the conference is to keep registration costs low, so people with limited development and/or travel support can still attend. Code4Lib has a tradition of offering scholarships to community members who are under-represented in information technology, and we’ve expanded the sponsorship options supporting diversity, access and inclusion (more on that below.)

Blacklight Organizations have supported Code4Lib in recent years and our community would welcome your support and engagement again in 2022! We have a prospectus (https://2022.code4lib.org/prospectus/) on the conference website that describes different levels of support, from a $250 Supporter to the top $8,000+ Platinum sponsor. Each level offers recognition, including exhibitor tables for some levels and your name or logo on the prized Conference T-Shirt, as described in the prospectus.

The majority of our general sponsorship levels also include a contribution to our Diversity, Accessibility and Inclusion Funds (DAI). Or, you can contribute directly to the DAI Sponsorship Opportunities, which include Scholarships, Food & Beverage, Captioning, and other targeted sponsorships.

If your organization would like to support Blacklight’s efforts to sponsor Code4Lib 2022, please CLICK HERE to complete the sponsor registration. If you have questions or would like to discuss your support options, please get in touch with us at code4lib.s...@gmail.com.

You may also contact that same address, code4lib.s...@gmail.com, with any questions about the conference or the Code4Lib community.

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Sincerely,
Kathy Azevedo
