BL7 EOL and BL8 Hyrax issue

Hi all,

Posted this in the Slack channel as well but sharing here in case it reaches a few more people --

At the last community meeting, there was discussion about setting up an End of Life for BL7, since many institutions won't approve work until EOL has been established.  However, there was concern that Hyrax didn't work ell with BL8.  So we're trying to gauge how many institutions would be impacted by this issue before figuring out a date for EOL.  

Please let respond with thoughts --

I wanted to point out that the latest Blacklight 7 (7.41.0) does not run on Rails 8.1. Rails 8.0 goes out of "active support" in May, however it has "security support" until November.. https://endoflife.date/rails.
