Hi all,

I think we've finished the first pass to add i18n support to
Blacklight. I've squashed the various commits down and rebased them
onto master on the i18n branch. All the Blacklight spec and cucumber
tests pass.

Before merging into master, I'd suggest we check through the code for
stray strings and have a couple people look over the
config/locales/en.yml keys and clean it up, standardize keys, etc.
This first pass was more about getting the translations into the
en.yml file rather than giving them perfect names, but before we do a
release with this, I think we should try to get our labels right.

Here's the diff to master:
https://github.com/projectblacklight/blacklight/compare/i18n

Thanks,
Chris

++!

Is anyone that we know of using BL in a non-English UI?

Hello,
I'm a french developper who works in a library (in Clermont-Ferrand). We're trying to install BL and to connect it to our ILS (AbsysNet). So we are very interested in i18n support.

My english is not very good but I'll try to participate and our contributions could be useful for BL (We need to adapt it for UNIMARC).

Thanks for your work on BL.

Mathieu.

Mathieu,

One of the tools underlying Blacklight (named SolrMarc) which processes
MARC records into the Solr index that is used by Blacklight is designed
to be able to handle UNIMarc style MARC records, however I'm not sure
that any existing site using Blacklight has used them as of yet. As you
move forward with your Blacklight efforts, I will happily provide
assistance with the needed changes to SolrMarc.
